For 16 years, RDG Concessions had been a major player in the airport retail scene with Pacific Outfitters Travel Gear (POTG). With five successful stores at San Francisco International Airport, POTG capitalized on the consistent foot traffic of millions of annual travelers. But a stronger online presence was needed. Our rebranding efforts brought exceptional results: a remarkable 1000% sales growth, transforming POTG's trajectory tenfold.

The primary challenge lay in transitioning POTG’s success offline to online. To facilitate this shift, we needed to craft a narrative that would set POTG apart from well-entrenched competitors already dominating the travel gear sector. POTG’s reliance on physical storefronts required a digital transformation that introduced their expanded product line, and created a vibrant and memorable brand presence.
The entire brand campaign hinged on a clearly defined audience. POTG could not engage with their customers, if they weren’t sure who they were. We worked directly with POTG’s staff to clearly define their audience, by conducting fun, interactive workshops with their team to help define segment personas.
To appeal to the global travelers who appreciated POTG’s products, we updated POTG’s existing logo and crafted a new brand identity. We created a new ecommerce website and launched a new social media campaign. We also created in-store signs to drive traffic to the new website. Our efforts increased POTG’s online sales by 10 times (1000%) .

Hello, Steve Hardy!

RDG Concessions, the force behind Pacific Outfitters Travel Gear, desired to expand its wholesale business by increasing online sales and connecting with influencers. We created this custom marketing kit to grab the attention of celebrity media personality Steve Harvey.

When RDG Concessions President, Ralph Glen, learned about Steve Harvey's participation as a speaker at an upcoming national conference, he saw a golden opportunity. His goal was clear – to send a distinctive marketing kit to Steve Harvey before the event, aiming to establish initial rapport and facilitate a personal meeting during the conference.

With a tight timeline of just a few weeks, we faced the exciting challenge of creating an attention-grabbing package that could break through Steve Harvey's busy schedule and capture his interest.
We created an elaborate and striking introduction, tailored to Mr. Harvey. The kit featured samples of RDG’s premium travel gear, neatly packaged in one of the company’s bright orange suitcases. Custom mailing labels adorned the shipping box, prompting urgent attention with the message “Steve Harvey. . . Open Immediately!” Adding a touch of elegance, we crafted a sophisticated letterhead carrying a personal note from RDG CEO Ralph Glenn. To top it off, we included a USB luggage tag that held a special video greeting for Mr. Harvey.

Amidst fierce global competition in the travel gear sector, RDG grappled with the challenge of standing out at trade shows. With entrenched rivals, the imperative was to create an online and trade show presence that eloquently conveyed the distinct qualities of their products and spotlighted their travel gear in a way that immediately engaged potential wholesale buyers.
Our strategic approach revolved around highlighting RDG's unique competitive differentiators—namely their commitment to custom development and rigorous testing of products tailored exclusively for airport travelers. We integrated “Smartly Designed, Traveler Tested” and “Designed for the Savvy Global Traveler” into the company's messaging, infusing a sense of authenticity and relevance.
By aligning RDG's messaging with its core strengths, and creating an engaging new identity, we successfully reinvigorated the brand's online appeal. As a result, RDG’s wholesale business expanded and sales surged. The new website multiplied RDG Concessions’ online traffic tenfold (1000%)!
